I am a movie person. Not much of a TV watcher, but if you're sitting down for a movie-I'm game! I mention this because the moment that I saw this image from Dr. Digi, the final dance sequence from Sony Pictures movie "Center Stage" sprang to my mind.

Specifically the song-Canned Heat by Artist Jamiroquai.

Ok, so now you know my inspiration.

THE PROJECT:

I could have just used the single image, but I decided to have the dancer(s) spell out the word 'DANCE' and line them up like in the movie.

I couldn't decide on a color palette and then opted to use a 'rainbow' theme and I'm so happy that I did. It was a blast inking up each dancer in her themed color. I varied skin and hair shades with each dancer too.

I used 'mustard seed' distress ink to mimic show lights shinning down on each dancer. Had I left the card matted on 'ballerina' pink cardstock it would be a traditional slim line card. As it is-I wanted to showcase more of my musical interest in this card and matted it on some music DP and now it is a bit oversized. Oh-well!
