Ribbon or Twine

Tia's Tips: Ribbon or twine are a staple in the craft room! There are lots of great ways to enhance and embellish a card using either or BOTH!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #583: Ribbon or Twine

How You Can Join the Challenge:

Up for grabs at The Paper Shelter  is our usual fantastic prize! Our winner will win a $30 store gift certificate- if you've used a Paper Shelter product on your entry (such as the pre-colored image, the black and white digi, or the digital paper that comes in the set). Or win 3 digis of your choice, if you've used images from another brand. This is a win-win! Plus, you can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them. Good Luck!!!

My Card Details:

I have to remind myself that The Paper Shelter now has this AMAZING collection of Coloring Books!!! So when this week's theme came up, I thought what goes with Ribbons & Twine...BALLOONS!

The Balloons of Bliss coloring book is absolutely gorgeous and so, so precious! It was complete joy coloring this sweet image.

So if you know me, follow me or have seen half of my work, you will know that Purple is my favorite color! So only fitting that I completely went crazy with it here.

I didn't want to take away from this beautiful image and yellow is such a natural compliment to the purple without feeling completely girly (if I had used pink).

My COPIC color combos are pretty straight forward-and some of my favorite color combos to use:

Balloons: YR23; Y15; Y13; Y11

Shirt: V09; V17; V15

Skirt: Pulled V17 with V20

Skin: E53; E35; E37

Lips: R32

Necklace: RV23

Hair: E17; E23; YR24

I think the die-cut frame is from Whimsey Stamps. I love that it had a "ribbon" flow feel. I used my white gelly roll pen in the stitching. I didn't really love it, it was rather bright. I went over it with a clear Wink-Of-Stella pen and love how it softened it up. In person it has a shiny silver glow.

I have an older punch that allows for the ribbon threading. Put you could easily apply the same approach with a Kraft Knife and ruler.

Lastly, I glued some Doodlebug Design twine for the balloon strings.

I didn't add a sentiment, knowing it could be used for several occasions!

I'll be curious to see how all of you use Ribbon or Twine in your card creations. I hope you'll join in on the fun and even more...I hope YOU WIN!
