Let There Be PEACE

Tia's Tips: What do you do when the creative muse hits? Do you run to your craft table? Smile and hope you'll remember what ignite your inspiration? If you are like me- I go running for my planning notebook. Yup, I'm a planner! Especially when the creative juices explode while I'm sleeping! I wake up and quickly jot a sketch and some notes to myself about my vision and then nod back to dreamland (yes-that is my super-power-being able to fall back asleep). I like that when I can't craft-I can at least plan what I will craft when I can get to my happy place.

Welcome friends! The new year has been very busy!!! So MANY stamps, so little time! The release of the PEACE stamp set came by so fast and I had so much fun creating several cards with it that I almost forget to get in here and share everything!!!

So rather than individual posts on each card, I'm highlighting the set and the variations that I created from it.

This first card is very dear to my heart! It was one that I woke up in the night dreaming about! But when I sat down in my studio to make, I just couldn't find design paper that matched what was in my head. So I set it aside and worked on other projects. The next night the color scheme came to me and in the morning I knew I would just create the backgrounds myself!

No COPICS here! Detailed work calls for a detailed pen and the word designs were all filled in the my Staedtler Fineliner pens. I stamped the sentiments on my cardstock in white, then stamped again on white cardstock in black ink. I colored and fussy cut them out and adhered them on-top of the pre-stamped ones.

The emoji faces came from Simple Stories (Emoji-Love paper pad), that I punched the faces from.

Earth Day is next month! April 22nd to be exact. And who can resist a good shaker card? I recently replace my heat tool and have been a little embossing crazy! I used Star Dust embossing powder on-top of white pigment ink on vellum paper for the PEACE sentiment (looks SO MUCH BETTER in person!) Also in the Prickley Pear store, there is a collection of WOW! Embossing powders, WOW Cosmic Trio Embossing Powder Set

I used it to create my 'earth'. I adhered it and the sentiment on the outside of the acetate window.

Last up is a card from the book lover in me! I thought of my happy place that brings me peace. I love, love, love the Build-A-Library clear stamp set from Prickley Pear. The PEACE sentiment is rather large so creating it's own 'cover-page' and tearing the corner off to reveal a cozy reading-nook felt like play with dress up dolls. I really could have stamped/colored more stacks of books! And look at how nuts I went with the foam tape and creating lots of layers of dimension!

Thank goodness this set has a die-set to match! LOL! Somebody get this woman a scan-n-cut!

Thanks friends for getting caught up with me on this collection!
