Happy Hello

Tia's Tips: Don't be afraid to mix it up on your cards. If die-cutting is your jam, throw in a hand drawn or stamp colored image and vice-versa. The best part about crafting/art-there is no right or wrong. There is only do what makes you feel good!

I was very excited to work with the 'Country Girl' image, being that I myself am; to quote Marie Osmond - "a little bit country". Before moving to the mountains, I grew up in Iowa, and this All Dressed Up image reminded me of....me!

THE PROJECT:

I've been working very hard at picking out my design papers first (I LOVE paper!), it helps to get me excited and to start thinking out my theme. I loved the idea of my country girl sitting in a field of Sunflowers and quickly found paper to fit. I remembered that I had a Sunflower die from Simon Says Stamp and decided to make myself figure out a way to incorporate the die! When I print out my digital stamps I like to print several images of varying sizes on one sheet of paper. I chose an image size smaller than my die so it would fit into the frame of my die.

When I have an image with lots of 'little bits" to color, I like to take a sticky note or my notepad and jot down what colors I'm thinking about. Originally I thought about a purple jumper-then dismissed it in favor of a 'denim' jumper. I knew I wanted to add texture to the clothing, so made sure to color it first, so none of the colorless blender would get on any of the other colored parts. Also, I tend to do a lot of wispy clouds and decided to go with happy fluffy clouds this time.

I also chose a Hello sentiment, but felt it wasn't enough and added the extra-happy, happy.
