Friends Are Flowers

Tia's Tips: How do you color your image white? By coloring the shadows. Look for the shadows in your image and then selected muted colors that would be found there. For images that feature "live" subjects, select warm grays. For snow-light blue, violet, pink or even yellow. It depends what is reflecting on it's surface. For more inspiration-check out my previous post "My Best Friend", which features colored diamonds.

The Paper Shelter Card Challenge #589: Easter

You Can Join Our Challenge:

Up for grabs at The Paper Shelter  is our usual fantastic prize! Our winner will win a $30 store gift certificate- if you've used a Paper Shelter product on your entry (such as the pre-colored image, the black and white digi, or the digital paper that comes in the set). Or win 3 digis of your choice, if you've used images from another brand. This is a win-win! Plus, you can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them. Good Luck!!!

My Card Details:

I'm telling you The Paper Shelter is just knocking it outta the park with these coloring books! The Easter Bunnies is jam-packed with the cutest of cuties! These two caught my eye and thanks once again to my newly purchased Graphic 45 collection pack "Grow With Love", I even had the perfect sentiment to tie it all together.

The background paper is also from the Graphic 45 pack and was the basis for my color palette. I like to pick my papers after my image, it helps me to pick my COPICS and ensure coordination.

I started with a more traditional size A2 card base (4.25 x 5.5 inches) and matted my design paper to have a thin white boarder peeking around. I kept my digital print small at 3.5 x 4.25 in.

I ran a purple floral ribbon behind a white die cut rectangle (from Gina Marie Designs) to highlight the chipboard sentiment out of the Graphic 45 pack.

I love all the shadow guides The Paper Shelter gives you with these coloring books! I just used a few warm gray markers to deepen them.

I used my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner pens for all the tiny details, like the stems & leaves.

The flowers were the lightest of pastels from my COPICS:

Gray: W0; W1; W2

Purple: V000; V01

Pink: RV000; RV00; RV10

Yellow: Y00; Y04

Off white: E40; W1

Green: YG01; YG13; YG03; YG17

Blue: B00; 0

Basket: YR23; Y28; 0

I'm so excited to continue coloring these cute bunnies! And just think, next year I will have SO many Easter cards ready to mail out! I might start a new trend-LOL!
