Tia's Tips: The best stamp-be it wood/red rubber/clear/or digital is the stamp that you can think of a MILLION uses for! The stamp that sings to your soul and shoots fireworks off in your skull. Okay, maybe the veterans in this game know what I'm talking about. But the point is-PACE YOURSELF! Don't follow the pack-follow your artistic heart-it will lead the way!
This post has been a 3-Design Series: All Copics used are listed with each card.
CARD #3:
Design Team Post for: Polka Dot Orchard Stamps
Digital Set: Count Your Life With Smiles
Digital Set-Sentiment: Remember Me
The Project:
My inspiration for this third card came from the faux woodgrain design paper. I love the shade of blue an thought that with the floral stamp it would make a nice sympathy card or quiet encouragement. And that is what I found when looking for a sentiment. The blues acknowledge to the receiver that today is a 'down' day, but "tomorrow will bring brighter days", a great sentiment that you just need somedays! I have a friend who is a Stampin' Up demonstrator and a lover of ribbon-she is who taught me the 'double ribbon' look.
Just a few Copics needed to make that cool-mood.

Design Team Post for: Polka Dot Orchard Stamps
Digital Set: Count Your Life With Smiles
Digital Set-Sentiment: Live to Sparkle
The Project:
I've seen several card ideas out there where the main image is black & white surrounded by an explosion of color-either ombre, splashes, droplets etc. and loved the idea. I'm always looking for a way to use my Ken Oliver Color Burst powders and this was a great card to play with.
I used the Galaxy Color Burst set on both the outside and inside of my card. I printed a 2nd set of the 'Count Your Life With Smiles' flowers. I used a Gelly Roll pen to re-draw the stems. I printed the sentiment from 'Live to Sparkle' and cut into word strips, then spritzed with water and applied the Color Burst colors.
If you've never tried the Color Burst Watercolors from Ken Oliver-give them a try! They're really fun to create with.

Digital Set: Count Your Life With Smiles
New in the Polka Dot Orchard store is this stamp set- 'Count Your Life With Smiles'. Have you ever found a stamp set that the moment you saw it your brain instantly imagined several layouts for it? Well that is what happened to me with this sweet, simple and gorgeous set! So hang on to your seats-because you are going to get several card designs from me on this one.
The Project:
Card #1:
This first card-I like to refer to as 'Poppy'. Sadly, I am not a flower person. I like them, like getting them-couldn't really tell you the name from one flower to the next. But my mother-in-law grew the most beautiful orange/red poppies in her garden for several years and they always took my breath away. I knew I wanted to make a card to that memory.
The sentiment 'You are one in a million', ties in beautifully and comes with the set. I printed an extra image just so I could fussy cut one flower and have it extend not only up-3D, but also out-over the edge of the paper. I am still a huge fan of the faux-wood grain papers and love how the yellow compliments the red with a country feel. Sorry-I don't remember where I got the clear baubles-but liked that I could mimic water droplets with them.
